Američki gangster: „Crnački don“ kao socio-kulturna kontradikcija

U radu se analizira film Američki gangster (2007) u režiji Ridlija Skota, o životu crnačkog gangstera Frenka Lukasa, neobičnog i sposobnog čoveka. Na početku je dat komentar o razlozima za izbor ovog filma, posle čega sledi filmska dijegeza u okviru koje su dati svi relevantni podaci o filmu i njegovom sadržaju, kao i sažeta biografija Frenka Lukasa koja predstavlja jedan od konteksta za analizu i ujedno osnovni sinopsis filma. Potom je primenjena generička analiza u kojoj su dati najvažniji elementi žanrovskog obrasca gangsterskih filmova i njihov kratak istorijat, da bi bilo sagledano koje karakteristike u okviru žanra ima analizirani film. U okviru žanra, detaljnije su razmatrana dva specifična problema: istorijska rekonstrukcija i mitizacija gangstera kroz folklorizaciju i popularizaciju tog lika. Kontekstualna analiza je bila posvećena odnosu kriminala, kompeticije, agresivnosti i „američkog sna“ kao ideala i načina života. S druge strane, razmotren je problem etničkog i posebno crnačkog kriminala u getoiziranim delovima američkih gradova kao kontekst u kome je Lukas delao. Semantička analiza je sažela neke od osnovnih socio-kulturnih kontradikcija u filmu određujući njegov ideološki okvir i poruke.
