Apstrakt

Arheološka praksa od nastanka discipline do danas pored mnogobrojnih drugačijih definicija može da se razume i kao veoma kompleksan dijalog o nasleđu koji istraživači vode sa javnošću savremenih društava. Arheolozi kroz dijalog ne samo da direktno konstruišu društvena sećanja i moderne identitete, što samo po sebi predstavlja izuzetnu odgovornost, već su i sami podložni etnocentričnom prenošenju savremenih vrednosti, stremljenja i očekivanja u sliku o prošlosti. U tom smislu, može da se kaže da javnost nije samo najvažniji konzument kulturnog nasleđa već i aktivni činilac koji posredno utiče na arheološke interpretacije prošlosti.

Zahvaljujući globalnim trendovima u disciplini sa jedne i izmenjenoj političkoj, ekonomskoj i društvenoj situaciji sa druge strane, arheologija u Srbiji našla se u situaciji da je primorana da intenzivira kontakt sa javnošću i da svoj rad učini dostupnim i ekonomski održivim. Cilj ovog rada je da ukratko predstavi teorijske osnove različitih modela saradnje arheologije i javnosti, da skrene pažnju na prednosti, mane i posledice svakog od pomenutih pristupa i da na taj način upozori na mnoge potencijalne probleme koji mogu da nastanu nekritičkim plasiranjem informacija o prošlosti i nasleđu.
