Ovaj rad se bavi odnosom između stvarnog i nestvarnog u horor prozi. Njegova osnovna teza glasi da koncept zla u pričama strave izvire iz liminalnih sadržaja koji su proizvod subjektivnih doživljaja stvarnosti autora. Cilj rada je da odgovori na pitanje mogu li se takve konceptualizacije zla smestiti u neki određen sociokulturni kontekst ili su one, pak, proizvoljne budući da su ukorenjene u mašti proznih stvaralaca. U cilju odgonetanja te dileme, ovaj rad se usredsređuje na analizu instrukcija za pisanje horor priča koje su u vidu knjiga, eseja i predgovora formulisali savremeni vodeći predstavnici horor žanra a koje, između ostalog, promišljaju i o tematizaciji zla u horor prozi.
